John Flannelly

John Flannelly

Head of Investment

John Flannelly is Head of Investment at Target. He is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience, the majority of which have been in real estate investment management. John has primary responsibility for investment activity across the Target business. John has been involved in the appraisal of several hundred care home opportunities resulting in the acquisition of circa 100 properties for those client funds.

Prior to joining Target, during his time as investment director for an institutional investor, John held board positions at a UK top-10 care home operator and a care home development business. John started his career at Arthur Andersen where he worked on audits, financial due diligence and corporate finance projects before moving to the Bank of Scotland initially to structure finance packages for management buy-outs and latterly to a role in real estate investment management.

Kirsty Macrae

Kirsty Macrae

Executive Assistant

Kirsty is Executive Assistant to our Head of Investment and provides high-level support to our Investment team ensuring that effective planning and administrative systems are in place and maintained.

Previously, Kirsty worked in a managerial role within the NHS and private dental sector and brings a wealth of experience to Target.

David Robinson

David Robinson

Investment Director

David joined Target in 2013 and is responsible for the appraisal and completion of new investment opportunities. A chartered accountant, he has experience in a broad range of property investment and corporate finance environments.

After completing his CA training with Deloitte, David worked with their due diligence team for 6 years; specialising in real estate and financial services transactions throughout the UK and Europe. He then joined Bank of Scotland, where he managed equity investments and structuring transactions in a portfolio across a number of real-estate sectors (including healthcare).

David took up his current role after a period in the energy sector where he worked in regulatory finance and in development land acquisitions.

Rob Scholes

Rob Scholes

Investment Director

Rob joined Target in 2013 and is responsible for the appraisal and completion of new investment opportunities. He has a total of over 15 years' investment and corporate finance experience.

Having completed the Bank of Scotland's graduate programme, Rob spent six years in the bank's private equity division structuring and transacting debt and equity funding to support MBOs and corporate acquisitions.

He subsequently worked at the mid-market private equity firm, Caird Capital, where he had responsibility across six  investments operating in a variety of sectors.

Tim Kay

Tim Kay

Investment Director

Tim is responsible for appraising and completing new investment opportunities.

Tim qualified as a chartered accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2000. He spent the following 5 years in their transactions team, assisting private equity and corporate clients on planning and implementation of corporate acquisitions.

Joining the Bank of Scotland in 2006, he was responsible for managing equity investments in a variety of real-estate companies with a principal focus on providing further investment and delivering successful exits.

In 2009 Tim joined Lloyds Banking Group’s real-estate debt-restructuring team and  was part of the team that launched Scottish Widows’ long-term commercial real-estate debt proposition in 2015.

Chris Arkinson

Chris Arkinson

Investment Director

As a Chartered Banker, Chris has experience in a broad range of property investment and corporate finance environments. At Target he is responsible for the appraisal and completion of new investment opportunities.

Chris joined from Homes England where he worked on evaluating and executing transactions for the government’s Home Building Fund to support the delivery of new homes.

Prior to that, Chris worked for close to thirty years in Corporate Banking for Lloyds Banking Group, focusing primarily on the Real Estate sector covering the UK, Irish and  broader European markets, including deal origination, underwriting,  syndication and restructuring activities.
